As 2024 comes to an end, Team LMK is reflecting on the year that’s passed and looking at what’s ahead in 2025.

2024 has once again reminded us of the devastating impact of unhealthy relationships, as well as bringing about new and evolving challenges for young people, with a recent report by the Youth Endowment Fund highlighting the extent of relationship abuse young people are experiencing. They found that among those who had been in a relationship in the past year, 49% have experienced violent or controlling behaviours from their partner. While the evolving patterns of behaviour in relationships are concerning, what’s clear is that there is a huge drive for change to make a difference and support young people to build happy and healthy relationships.

2024 has been an incredible year for LMK. We’ve now worked with over 15,000 young people, supporting them to recognise the 10 signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships and to develop the skills to navigate relationship issues like consent, boundaries, porn and how to leave a relationship safely.

Other highlights in 2024 include:

LMK was created in 2020 to take a preventative approach to the complex problem of  relationship abuse and domestic violence, with a mission to provide young people with the knowledge and skills to thrive in their relationships. We’re hopeful to see the progress that’s been made this year – and are looking forward to continuing this crucial work in 2025.
