LMK recently featured in a Waterloo Road documentary, which explored the rise of relationship abuse amongst teenagers. Watch the video in full below.
The ten-minute documentary follows actors Hattie Dynevor and Matthew Khan, who portray the victim and perpetrator in a coercive teenage relationship, visiting a Manchester college to observe one of our workshops in action.
The workshop was led by LMK facilitator Ryan and explored the 10 Signs framework, designed to help young people identify the differences between healthy and unhealthy behaviours in relationships. Through discussion and real-life context, students explored the themes raised in Waterloo Road, and reflected on the impact of coercive control in everyday situations.
We were delighted to be involved in this important project, offering insight into the realities of relationship abuse and demonstrating how education and having the conversation can help young people to recognise warning signs and build safe, respectful relationships.
