Engaging, relevant RSHE activities for teachers & educators

Our ‘Classroom Conversation Starters’ series gives teachers easy-to-use resources to start RHSE lessons about healthy relationships with confidence, in line with Ofsted expectations. Each activity connects core themes like respect, consent, and kindness to the real-world issues and media moments young people recognise.

Designed for teachers in year 6 to 11, these conversation starters help young people develop critical thinking, relationship skills, and personal confidence, while supporting teachers’ planning and delivery.

How do these classroom activities align with Ofsted and RSHE requirements?

Under the new Education Inspection Framework (from Nov 2025), curriculum and personal development are core inspection areas. This activity helps with personal development / wellbeing and curriculum quality, ensuring RSHE is relevant, meaningful and integrated across the whole school:

  • Pupil engagement: Co-designed with LMK’s Youth Advisory Board, ensuring pupils’ voices help shape meaningful RSHE learning.
  • Relevant to young people’s lives: Activities reflect experiences young people may actually encounter.
  • Healthy vs unhealthy relationships: Explores key RSHE themes such as boundaries, consent, equality, honesty, and manipulation.
  • Critical thinking & media literacy: Encourages reflection on real-life and media scenarios, questioning assumptions and stereotypes.
  • Structured & sequenced learning: Lessons are framed around LMK’s 10 Signs, providing clear progression and skill-building.
  • Safe & supportive environment: Discusses sensitive topics via media scenarios rather than personal disclosure.

Just launched: two new workshops

To support the updated RSHE guidance, and help trusted adults support young people through these fast-evolving changes, we’ve launched two new workshops:

Co-designed with young people, these new workshops are delivered in schools by LMK’s expert facilitators. They build on the foundations established in the ‘10 Signs of Healthy Relationships’ workshop, which must be completed first to ensure all participants have a shared understanding of healthy and unhealthy relationship signs, before exploring more advanced topics.
